Title of position

Sheet Metal Roofer (NOC 72102)

Job duties

• Install, repair or replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings with new sheet metal roofing
• Install sheet metal flashings
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
• Set up scaffolding to provide safe access to roofs
• Read drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates
• Install and use rigging and hoisting equipment
• Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding and similar equipment to fabricate products such as custom chimney/skylight/wall details, custom cap flashing
• Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
• Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications

Terms of employment

Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week)

Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible

Wage

$30/hour

Benefits package

4% vacation pay

Location of work

202 - 6200 Darnley St, Burnaby, BC V5B 3B1 and multiple locations in Metro Vancouver and Lower Mainland, British Columbia

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience

Education: Secondary school required

Work Experience:

At least one year of experience as Sheet Metal Roofer required
Previous experience with zinc and/or copper metal roof installations required
Demonstrable experience with a variety of hand and power tools required

Language requirements:

Spoken and written English required
