We offer materials and tools for activities such as creating fluid bears, tufting, beadwork, pom-pom art, neon lights, as well as home decor and lifestyle gifts. The store has specialty handicrafts and trendy items from all over the world. Due to our business development, we are currently seeking a professional Purchasing Officer to join our team.

Wage Rate: 26.5 per hour
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Job Responsibilities
-Conduct overall purchasing activities, complete procurement tasks of various commodities as planned, ensure our inventory at a standardized level, and minimize expenditures within the budget.
-Place order and purchase items, determine and negotiate purchase contract, review quotation with existing suppliers, ensuring the delivery.
-Conduct negotiations for the acquisition of goods and services, negotiating cost-effective solutions, mitigating risks, preparing and evaluating contract terms, conditions and pricing.
-Find new suppliers, organize the evaluation of suppliers and gather information including pricing and quantity.
-Set up delivery schedule and arrange stock, check the delivery amount and quality with the request, report and coordinate problems with suppliers.
-Ensure supplier performance and all elements of the goods and services are delivered in accordance with the statement of requirements and specifications.
-Interpret procurement policies and procedures to clients and staff, identify and recommend changes, negotiate procurement timelines, analyze and identify opportunities to increase efficiencies, improve service and reduce costs.
Recruiting Requirements:
Education:
A minimum of a college diploma in business administration, commerce or economics is required.
Experience:
-Previous experience in purchasing, sourcing or supply chain would be an asset.
Skills:
-Knowledge of end-to-end procurement procedures, techniques and methodologies, including tendering, evaluation, contract development and negotiation and management.
-Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
-Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and demonstrate tact and diplomacy.
-Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
-High efficiency, be able to work under pressure.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Ability to work independently.
-Efficient interpersonal skills.
-Tight deadlines.
-Judgement.
