Job Duties:
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of workers who repair and maintain industrial machinery and
equipment, construction and other heavy equipment
• Assist on-site and corporate parts teams in the planning and implementation of parts supply and inventory
management at project sites
• Actively motivate, coach, mentor and manage performance of team
• Ensure employee Training Certificates (safety and technical) are up to date and on file
• Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors in support of Toromont’s Health
and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Assist in the monitoring and management of WIP, warranty and goodwill claims
• Proactively identify and quantify potential liabilities at project sites and immediately implement corrective
actions to mitigate risk to asset base and/or margin
• Assist in an equipment product problem management strategy in conjunction with Toromont Technical
Communicators
• Encourage continuous improvement on the project sites through scheduled meetings between management,
other departments and employees, and the customer
• Support the development, implementation and management of all product support initiatives at the project
sites, including active and future maintenance contracts and all other programs offered by Toromont and
Caterpillar
• Identify and communicate Toromont and customer objectives or issues with documentation and visuals
suitable for meetings or electronic presentations
• May coordinate relationships with the customer to develop and enhance the partnerships
• Actively engage in all initiatives that support the integrity, safety, growth and profitability of Toromont and our
customers
• Contributing to monitoring the processes of financial results projecting to ensure goals and commitments are
met in both expenses and sales
• Travel as required to directly oversee and support the execution of assembly, overhaul and other projects as
well as for scheduled meetings, site inspections and any issues that demand in-person attention.
Skills Required:
• Strong background in Parts, inventory, and Warehouse Management
• Experience in overseeing the quoting, planning, & execution of Caterpillar equipment repairs
• Effective organizational skills
• Customer centric with effective leadership, coaching and team building skills to support
operations
• Strong background in managing service & parts operations and proficiency with PL/Financial Statements
• Safety conscious, excellent negotiating, analytical and problem-solving skills with a high sense of urgency
• Self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
• Solution focused and adaptable to changing and multiple priorities to meet aggressive deadlines
• Computer literate with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Applications; Excel, DBS, SIS and Cat Web
Navigation
• Willing and able to travel and work flexible hours in support of the needs of the business
• Must be able to obtain Driver’s License
• Bilingual in French and English would be an asset
Experience Required:
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory occupation
Education Required:
• Trade certificate
Wage & Hours: $107,363.00 per year
• Number of hours per day: 12 hours per day
• Number of days per week: 7 days
• Number of hours per week: 84 hours per week
• Working schedule: 2-3 weeks of work followed by 2-3 weeks off.
• Shift rotation: afternoon and night shifts may be required.
• Overtime: starts after 168 hours for a 2 week in - 2 week out schedule
starts after 252 hours for a 3 week in - 3 week out schedule.
