Pharmacy Assistant

We are currently seeking one Pharmacy Assistant to join our team, to support our pharmacists and help ensure the accuracy of prescription processing.

Position Title: Pharmacy Assistant
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Estimated Starting Date: As Soon As Possible
Position Available: 1
Wage: $21-23 per hour
Work Hours: 30 hours per week (including weekends and evenings)
Benefits: Vacation Pay at 4% of total wages or 10 days paid vacation

Responsibility:

• Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy and completeness before processing
• Input patient information and prescription details into the pharmacy database
• Support pharmacists and staffs with the preparation, packaging, and labelling of medications
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of drugs and other pharmaceutical products
• Prepare compounded medications, including oral solutions, ointments, and creams as directed
• Handel medical billing transactions and related administrative tasks when required
• Assist with pricing, stocking, and organizing items on pharmacy shelves

Qualification:

• Completion of Pharmacy Assistant College program (6-12 months) OR completion of secondary school and several months of on-the-job training is required
• Ability to work quickly, multitask and work well under pressure in a team environment
• Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• Working knowledge of English.
