Mechanical Engineering Technologist

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using both conventional and computer-assisted design (CAD) tools
• Conduct a variety of mechanical tests and analyses on machines, components, and materials to assess their performance
• Design molds, tools, jigs, and fixtures to be utilized in the production process
• Inspect mechanical installations to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
• Conduct failure analyses, document results, and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise and co-ordinate large projects related to the installation of new systems or the replacement of existing systems with different technologies
• Carry out inspections to ensure effective quality assurance
• Take part in activities involving installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment
• Escalate issues immediately to the production manager
Requirements of Position:
• Completion of a two- or three-year college program in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience as a Mechanical Technologist or in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Attention to detail in building mechanical design.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Compensation & Conditions:
• Permanent, full-time position
• $32.05 per hour
• 35 hours per week
• Overtime may be required and will be paid at 1.5 of your regular hourly rate after 44 hours per week
