Hairstylist

Hair Mates Barber & Stylists is looking for 4 full-time and permanent Hairstylist at 6894 island hwy N, Nanaimo, BC, V9V 1P6 .(Even though this is full-time position we encourage part time job seekers to apply as well). Salary is 18/hr and 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities:

• Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences
• Provide custom hair and scalp treatment
• Shampoo customers' hair
• Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair
• Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences
• Perform receptionist duties

Qualifications:

Completion of secondary school education is required. Completion of a one- or two-year hairstyling apprenticeship program or completion of a college or other program in hairstyling combined with on-the-job training is usually required or several years of experience may replace formal education and training.
