Editor (Thirstyyy)

We are looking for an experienced Editor to join our company.

Job Title: Editor (Permanent)

Working Location: Unit 9-12851 Bathgate Way, Richmond. BC., V6V 1Y5
Working Hours: 30-40 hours per week (Full-time)
Wage: between $28-$30 per hour (depending on experience) (Overtime to be paid at 1.5 the regular wage after 8hrs/day and after 40hrs/week.)
Benefit: 10 days paid vacation or 4 % vacation fee

Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in English, French, journalism or a related discipline is required.
• Several years of experience in journalism, writing, publishing or a related field is required.

Job duties and responsibilities, but not limited to:
• Assess the appropriateness of advertisements, articles, publications, and media, and make recommendations or modifications to content, style, and organisation.
• Proofread and edit copy for advertisements & publications to identify and correct spelling, punctuation, and syntax issues, as well as shorten or lengthen copy as space or time permits.
• Discuss copy modifications with staff writers and others.
• Plan and implement copy layout or format in accordance with space or time constraints and the importance of the copy.
• Plan and coordinate staff activities, ensuring that production deadlines are reached.
• Write or prepare introductions, marketing, promotional materials, and references, among other things.
