Position: Early Childhood Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hourly Wage: $36.60- $37.60 per hour (Depending on work experience)
Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Benefits: 10 business days of paid vacation or 4 % vacation pay
Duties:
• Plan, develop and evaluate Montessori-based childcare programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children;
• Supervise, guide and manage activities of Early Childhood Educators and Assistants to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery aligned with licensing standards and Montessori principles;
• Guide and encourage children in developing appropriate eating, dressing, and toileting habits;
• Observe and assess each child’s abilities, interests, and needs, and discuss progress, challenges, and appropriate support strategies with parents or guardians and educators;
• Maintain a safe and clean environment that protects children’s health, safety, and well-being;
• Monitor children for indicators of learning or behavioural difficulties and communicate with parents or guardians;
• Organize and lead activities by signing songs, reading stories, organizing community excursions, and providing opportunities for creative expression through music, dramatic play, art, outdoor exploration, and physical activity;
• Coordinate staff recruitment, training and performance evaluations; implement centre policies while maintaining collaborative relationships with staff, families, and community partners.


Qualification:
• Completion of a two-to four-year college program in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development is required;
• Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate is required;
• Since this is a supervisory position, at least 2 years of previous work experience as an Early Childhood Educator is required;
• Strong interpersonal, time management and leadership skills;
• Working knowledge of English.
