(Knowledge of Indian cuisine and dishes & understanding of Indian spices would be considered an asset)

Specific Skills
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
• Create and prepare a variety of curry dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and standards.
• Ensure that all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
• Estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.
• Ensure the kitchen/work area is tidy and clean.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
• Plan the menus, and maintain inventory of food supplies and equipment.

• Supervise kitchen helpers and train staff in preparation of cooking and handling of food
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures and ensure that the kitchen complies with health and safety regulations.
