Hours of Work: 40 hours/week (hours may fluctuate based on employers’ schedule)

Benefits: Eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or salary increases.
Salary: $17.17 CAD per hour

Duties:

• Supervise and care for children in the employer's residence
• Plan, prepare and serve meals for children and may perform other housekeeping duties
• Responsible for all household laundry
• Oversee children's meals and activities
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Instruct children in personal hygiene
• Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
• Take children to and from school and appointments
• May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding each child.
• Walk family dogs twice a day and monitor behavior throughout the day

Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school;
• At least 1 year of experience in childcare;
• Demonstrated ability to prepare nutritious meals;
• First aid certification and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training is required;
• Flexible to work on weekends and willing to travel with the family to cottage for summer months.
