We’re looking for someone experienced and motivated to join IPC in the position of Supervisor.</p><p>Experience with Micro Tunneling, Horizontal Direction Drilling (HDD), Auger Boring, and Direct Pipe trenchless installations is an asset.</p><p>Compensation includes:<br>• Equitable pay based on experience<br>• Health spending account and extended benefits</p><p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p><p>• The position holder will be responsible, in partnership with the site management, for the execution of the project within the project budget and within the schedule<br>• Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule work of teams<br>• Ensure the Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans, will be followed and executed accordingly<br>• Maintain customer relation during the project duration to client’s counterpart<br>• Take the coordination of sub-contractors and their crews and ensure their reporting and work<br>• Participate in pre-planning meetings with the client, sub-contractors and internally<br>• Issue of daily reports (internal & external)<br>• Required to speak effectively before groups of clients, subcontractors, and/or employees of the organization.<br>• Resolve work related problems and recommend measures for improvement<br>• Recommend trainings for team members<br>• Recommend hiring and/or promotions<br>• Ensure the HSE standards by the client and the company will be followed and executed by all team members</p><p>Supervisory Responsibilities<br>The Foreman is responsible for the organization of his dedicated crew’s daily tasks, ensuring safe work, and that timelines and project goals are achieved.<br>They also may be required to coordinate the work of sub-contractors and their crews and ensure their reporting and work schedule is maintained.</p><p>Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities<br>Supervisors have legal responsibilities for OH&S. Supervisors, including Foreman, are responsible to;<br>Provide site specific orientations for workers and ensure that training for new/transferred/returning to work employees is being performed.<br>• Confirm that employees under their supervision are aware of their safety responsibilities, including the Right to Participate, Know and Refuse dangerous Work.<br>• Ensure the health and safety of all workers under their direct supervision.<br>• Ensure Safe Work Permits are completed properly, such as for Confined space entry<br>• Complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for tasks being performed<br>• Not assign work to a worker with a medically documented or observed physical or mental impairment where those impairments endanger the health and safety of that worker or other workers.<br>• Conduct risk assessments and ensure workers under their supervision are aware of all known hazards.<br>• Support Management with enforcing the zero-tolerance policy on violence and harassment in the workplace.<br>• Ensure workers under their supervision have the appropriate personal protective equipment, which is being used properly, regularly inspected, and maintained.<br>• Co-operate with joint health and safety committee, worker health and safety representatives, OH&S officers.<br>• Be familiar with the Emergency Response Plans relevant to their particular work location, and fully understand their specific roles in an Emergency Response situation, as well as the role of the workers.<br>• Communicate to the workers their role in the event of Emergency Response Plan activation.<br>• Assist in the development of the Emergency Response Plans to meet changing conditions, operations or other relevant circumstances.<br>• Know the Fatigue Management Plan, and monitor workers for fatigue, relaying any concerns to Safety Manager.<br>• Participate in regular inspections to confirm compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.</p><p>Key Technical Skills and Knowledge<br>• Knowledge and experience in tunneling<br>• Demonstrated experience in connecting the machine, and all electrical and slurry lines<br>• Understanding of tunneling fluid management (slurry suspensions / mud plants)<br>• General mechanical and electrical skills and knowledge<br>• Troubleshooting experience on tunneling projects<br>• Ability to interpret and communicate the tasks on project execution plans to crews<br>• Excellent time management and organizational skills<br>• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and handle competing priorities<br>• Proven leadership within a multi-disciplinary team<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills<br>• Working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of Microtunneling / direct pipe equipment<br>• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, superiors, vendors, and clients, and resolve conflicts<br>• Working knowledge of the required safety precautions and hazards when working with equipment<br>• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.<br>• Educated in Intercultural Management to be able to manage the international teams working for the company<br>• Basic computer skills, and competence in Microsoft Office and Mac programs<br>• Basic knowledge in provincial / federal OH&S and occupational code / standards, as applicable to the job</p><p>Qualifications<br>• Education – An education in the tunneling or oil field industry, such as Driller, Heavy Duty Machinery operator or other related field experience are required<br>• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.<br>• Experience – At least 5 years of specialized experience in the field. As well at least 4 years experience in On-Site leadership positions. Knowledge and experience with Microtunneling Machines and/or Direct Pipe technology are required</p><p>Physical Demand<br>• Office - While performing the duties of this job, requirements may include prolonged standing, walking and/or sitting. Computer work is also required which will involve visual focus on screens and documents.<br>• Field - While performing the duties of this job, requirements may include use of hands to handle/feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally requirement to climb stairs and/or ladders, balance, stoop or kneel and/or walk on uneven ground. You may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
