</p><p>• Company operating name: Scanmar Maritime Services inc.</p><p>• Business address: Royal Enterprise Building, 2227 Chino Roces Ave, Makati, 1200 Metro Manila, Philippines</p><p>• Title of the position: Steward (NOC: 6731)</p><p>• Job duties:</p><p>- Ensures cleaning and laundry work.<br>- Ensures the cleanliness of hospital, messroom, cabins, common rooms/ quarters toilets and officer’s room and accommodations.<br>- Changes bed sheets and towels when crew changes and according to on board instructions.<br>- Does ship's linen laundry works.<br>- May help in distribution of slop chest.<br>- Is fully aware of the QHSE system implemented on board.<br>- Is fully involved in her or his safety duties and role and participate actively in the safety drills and exercises.</p><p>• Terms of employment: This is a one-time project-based position for a duration of up to 4 months. This is a non-renewable contract.</p><p>• Language of work: Basic understanding of English speaking maritime terminology is required</p><p>• Wage: $15.94/hour for average working weeks of 40 to 48 hours based on need.</p><p>• Location(s) of work: This up to 4-month contract is on-board a cable laying vessel and will take place in both the international and Canadian waters. You will be picked up in St-John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The work will take place in the great north, primarily within the Canadian waters located above the Nunavik region of Quebec.</p><p>• Skills requirements:</p><p>o At least 6 months of experience working in a similar capacity on a cable laying vessel navigating in international waters.<br>o Must have completed the following certifications: Ship Security Awareness and Food Hygiene and Safety.<br>o Ability to be on a work rotation (day, evening, and night shift, as necessary).<br>o Capability to multi-task in a fast past environment.<br>o Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.<br>o Complete criminal background check.</p>
