</p><p>Hiring a Bookkeeper</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Job requirements</p><p>– Completion of secondary school is required.</p><p>– A college diploma/certificate in a related field, or completion of two years of a Chartered Account program, or related courses in accounting/bookkeeping combined with direct experience as a senior financial or accounting clerk, is/ are required..</p><p>– Proficiency in Accounting Software such as Sage 50, MS Word, and Excel are required.</p><p>– Previous bookkeeping experience in hospitality related business is a definite asset.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Main duties</p><p>– Maintain financial records and establish necessary accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems for the hotel and restaurant such as Sage 50, etc.</p><p>– Calculate and prepare payments for payroll and for utilities, services and other expenses</p><p>– Prepare tax remittance forms, workers’ compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents</p><p>– Reconcile bank accounts, prepare trial balance of books, post journal entries, and maintain general ledgers.</p><p>– Provide assistance to General Manager in preparation of business/financial plans and proposals, financial statements, and other required documents</p><p>– Prepare various other statistical, financial and accounting reports as required.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Working Condition:</p><p>– 30 working hours per week (Full-time &amp; Permanent position) for $25.00 per hour</p><p>– 4% vacation pay or 10 days of paid vacation per year and group insurance after one year of employment</p>
