Food Service Supervisor

Dog House Family Restaurant in Duncan is looking for a Food Service Supervisor with at least 2 years of food service experience in a high volume restaurant, preferably including as a supervisor. Applicants should have broad culinary experience, perform to a high standard, and be able to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential. If necessary, private health insurance will be arranged (usually for 90 days) until workers are enrolled in the provincial plan. Duties will include the following:<br><br>• Assist in managing restaurant operations.<br>• May assist in hiring new staff, developing budgets, and improving procedures.<br>• Train new staff in job duties as well as sanitation &amp; safety procedures.<br>• Assist in planning schedules and supervising staff to ensure food &amp; service meet standards.<br>• Ensure health &amp; safety regulations are followed.<br>• Supervise and assist in cleaning the kitchen &amp; storeroom.<br>• Check food products &amp; supplies throughout shifts, replenishing them as needed.<br>• Keep inventory of food, supplies &amp; equipment, ordering new stock as needed.<br>• Arrange equipment maintenance when necessary.<br>• Perform related work as required.<br><br>Qualifications:<br>• Minimum 2 years' experience in commercial food preparation and service in a high volume restaurant, or the equivalent in experience and training (e.g., completion of a college program in food service administration or hotel and restaurant management).<br>• Experience as a supervisor in the food and beverage industry is an asset.<br>• A Food Safety Certificate must be obtained if not possessed.<br>• Completion of high school.<br>• Ability to communicate in English<br><br>Note: If you do not meet these qualifications exactly but possess the required skills for this position, please submit your résumé and references for consideration.<br><br>Compensation: $15.00/hr for 40hrs/wk
