</p><p>BC Traditional Homes provides high-quality new home construction, project management, and design services for fine custom homes. We assist with any phase of the project, from conception to completion and are currently hiring one Drafting Technologist to join our team.</p><p><strong>Business address:</strong>&nbsp;623 Discovery Street, Victoria, BC</p><p><strong>Work Location:</strong>&nbsp;same as above and various work sites within Vancouver Island and Coast Region, depending on where our projects are located.</p><p><strong>Type of Employment:</strong>&nbsp;Full time – Permanent</p><p><strong>Estimated Start Date</strong>: As soon as possible</p><p><strong>Job Description:<br></strong>-Develop and prepare designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data<br>-Write specifications<br>-Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets<br>-Examine drawings for conformity and errors<br>-Read and interpret blueprints, building plans and drawings<br>-Communicate with customers, if required, for clarification on plans or details<br>-Communicate with manager to complete designs and send them to production, in accordance with project timelines<br>-Operate computer-assisted design (CAD, REVIT, ARCHICAD) and drafting workstations</p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong><br>-Education: Completion of secondary school is required.<br>-Completion of a two- to three-year college program and/or courses in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related field is a strong asset.<br>Experience: A minimum of 6 months to one year of experience as a drafting technologist and/or drafting training is required<br>– Strong computer and technology knowledge is required: Microsoft Office, Sketch UP &amp; Auto CAD, Autodesk REVIT, ARCHICAD<br>– Type of drafting required: manual drafting, free-hand drafting, shop drawings, detailing drafting, presentation drawings</p><p><strong>Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:</strong><br>Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, manual dexterity, attention to detail, ability to distinguish between colours, sitting, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods</p><p><strong>Personal Suitability:</strong><br>Team player, excellent written and oral communication, organized, shows initiative, client focused, accurate, judgement, effective interpersonal skills</p><p><strong>Salary</strong>: $28.85 to $30.00 hourly, 30- 40 hours per week.</p><p><strong>Benefits:</strong>&nbsp;Disability, Dental and extended medical insurance will be provided.</p><p><strong>Important Information:</strong><br>The employee will work from Monday to Friday, from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. Flexibility in schedule is required to work extended hours/overtime and/or weekends on occasion to meet customer deadlines</p>
